Working for restaurants, hotels and banquet style businesses since I was 20 years old, I have trained and worked with many amazing Chefs from around the world learning what to do and what not to do. Now I'm here in my own private chef business as my own boss telling myself what to do and I love IT!!
I am not one of those theatrical or show Chefs who knew from the age of 3 that I was destined to be a great Chef and Master creator of the Culinary Arts. I also didn't start this career as a product of too much Celebrity Chef and Food Network viewing.
I am a daughter of a German Immigrant who struggled and succeeded in being an awesome Mom and Wife to an American Military Soldier. And although dinner was on the table every night at 6pm sharp while working 9-5 Monday -Friday, she had one major flaw:
She was a terrible cook!!
While struggling through my early 20's trying to find my identity, I found refuge in the Culinary Arts. I saw it at the time as a way to hone a skill that will let me travel around the world. Plus I was truly amazed to find how good food can really be!
But things changed right after, the Food Network was born and the food industry exploded leaving us average working Chefs trying to survive and finding a place in this business where we can showcase our own passions and skills.
After 23 years working with Hyatt and Westins Resorts and Spas, I finally broke out on my own and opened my own business. And it's here where my real adventure has begun.
